How to Download a PDF

Microsoft Edge

  1. Click the PDF Link. The PDF will open in a new tab.
  2. Download the PDF:
    1. Option 1: Hover near the top-right corner and click the "Download" button (a downward arrow icon).
    2. Option 2: Right-click the PDF link and select "Save link as..."
  3. Choose the Save Location in the dialog box that appears.
  4. Click "Save".

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Click the PDF Link. The PDF will open in a new tab.
  2. Download the PDF:
    1. Option 1: Click the "Download" icon (a downward arrow) on the toolbar at the top of the screen.
    2. Option 2: Right-click the PDF link and choose "Save Link As..."
  3. Choose the Save Location in the dialog box that appears.
  4. Click "Save".

Safari (Mac)

  1. Click the PDF Link. The PDF will open in a new tab.
  2. Download the PDF:
    1. Option 1: Hover near the bottom center to bring up the toolbar, then click the "Download" button (a downward arrow).
    2. Option 2: Right-click the PDF link and select "Download Linked File As..."
  3. Choose the Save Location in the dialog box that appears.
  4. Click "Save".

Google Chrome

  1. Click the PDF Link. The PDF will open in a new tab.
  2. Download the PDF:
    1. Option 1: Click the "Download" icon (a downward arrow) on the toolbar at the bottom-right corner of the screen.
    2. Option 2: Right-click the PDF link and select "Save link as..."
  3. Choose the Save Location in the dialog box that appears.
  4. Click "Save".

Setting the Default Download Settings for Common Browsers

If you haven't set up your browser to ask where it should save downloads, it may save them in your downloads folder instead of asking where you would like your file to be saved. To set up your browser to ask you where to save documents, follow these instructions:

Microsoft Edge

Set Default Download Location:
  1. Click on the three horizontal dots (menu) in the upper right corner.
  2. Select "Settings."
  3. In the left sidebar, click on "Downloads."
  4. Click on "Change" next to "Location."
  5. Choose your desired folder and click "Select Folder."

Mozilla Firefox

Set Default Download Location:
  1. Click on the three horizontal lines (menu) in the upper right corner.
  2. Select "Settings."
  3. Scroll down to the "Files and Applications" section.
  4. Under "Downloads," click "Browse" next to "Save files to."
  5. Choose your desired folder and click "Select Folder."

Safari (Mac)

Set Default Download Location:
  1. Click on "Safari" in the menu bar.
  2. Select "Preferences."
  3. Click on the "General" tab.
  4. Next to "File download location," click the drop-down menu.
  5. Select "Other..." and choose your desired folder.
  6. Click "Select."

Google Chrome

Set Default Download Location:
  1. Click on the three vertical dots (menu) in the upper right corner.
  2. Select "Settings."
  3. Scroll down and click "Advanced" to expand the advanced settings.
  4. Scroll down to the "Downloads" section.
  5. Click "Change" next to "Location."
  6. Choose your desired folder and click "Select Folder."
